On February 15th, 2020 The Order of Isshin-Ryu Karate family and guests gathered for their Winter Shiai. Tournament kata and kumite were performed, as well as Kyu rank evaluations and a special seminar by Sensei Nick Arndt.

Special Thanks to Sensei Nick Arndt and his assistants, Brian Clements and Zachary Coburn, of the Delaware Bushido Academy for attending our Shiai!

Sensei Arndt and his instructors shared their Gracie Jiu-Jitsu knowledge with our Kyu-ranks and Black Belts after our Shiai.

Everyone had a great time and learned a lot of great ground fighting strategies, concepts, and applications.

Sensei Arndt is a very positive, impressive, and motivating instructor. He is very patient. He explains and executes his techniques so smoothly and effortlessly that they are very easy for anyone to understand.

Thank you Sensei Arndt for spending the day with us. We are looking forward to your next visit!

A special congratulations to Mrs. Kathy Whitby of the Trappe Dojo on her promotion to Sho Dan at the Winter Shiai!

Other promotions at the Winter Shiai:

  • Mr. Harrison, Sho Dan Ho, Trappe Dojo
